UWRP is designated as the Pooled Plan Provider (PPP) of the retirement plan and is a Fiduciary to the plan. As the fiduciary, UWRP alleviates the employers’ responsibilities in sponsoring their own individual plan. UWRP coordinates the administration of the plan by partnering with service providers who specialize in specific areas of the retirement plan and administration. By coordinating focused subject matter expertise in each area, the retirement plan, UWRP can provide a comprehensive and compliant plan administration at a more affordable rate to our clients and members.

UWRP has partnered with EPIC Retirement Plan Solutions as the plan record keeper and Charles Schwab as the trustee. We have also partnered with RPA to advise and manage the investments.

UWRP utilizes the new Pooled Employer Plan (PEP) as our main retirement solution. PEPs allow the coordination of multiple employers regardless of industry to participate in a pool retirement plan. By allowing multiple employers to participate in one plan, we can consolidate administration and cost.

Our Retirement Plan

Retirement 4 Contractors

UWRP utilizes the new Pooled Employer Plan (PEP) as our main retirement solution. The PEP was created by the SECURE ACT in 2019 and replaces the previous Multi Employer Plans under ERISA. PEPs allow the coordination of multiple employers regardless of industry to participate in a pool retirement plan. Although it is a multi-employer plan, regulatory over site is based on the individual employer’s compliance and does not penalize the entire plan for non-compliance of one employer unlike the previous MEP’s plans.

UWRP has established the Retirement4Contractors PEP plan to specifically service SCA and DBA contractors. All Retirement4Contractors employer members are SCA or DBA Government contractors.

Employer Retirement plans are required to file Form 5500 with the DOL and the IRS on your 401k benefit plan by the end of the fiscal year. There are two versions of Form 5500. The long version is intended for large benefit plans, and the short version is intended for small plans. Generally, a plan is considered a “large” plan if it had 100 participants or more at the beginning of the plan year (subject to the 80-120 rule). The audit must be performed by an independent qualified public accountant. The cost for the 5500 Audit can be expensive, however, in a PEP 401k Plan the cost is shared by all groups participating in the PEP, reducing the individuals’ groups cost significantly each year.
